Duet to It…

When Abbey was on bed rest during our first pregnancy with Moss, I sometimes had to get creative with ways to cheer her up and keep her laughing. Luckily, this was also right around the time that Smule was released. You remember Smule: the app that allowed users to collaborate with other users and produce music videos. One user would record their part, send it to another user, and the second user would fill in the blanks with their part. One night, I decided to download it.

I have had the privilege of playing music and singing with some downright cool and amazing people. The majority of the time, these performances were in love-filled living rooms, on porches (front and back), in tiny bars with seven or eight patrons patronizing, and around campfires among campers camping. All of these performances pale in comparison to what I am about to share with you.

ALove wants it known that while we were in the studio, she was experiencing one of the worst cases of pregnancy nose that has ever been diagNOSED. Surprisingly, it was her idea to poke fun at herself, and Lord NOSE… I would never in a billion years go there without her conSCENT.

There was talk about a full-length mixtape… there were even rumors swirling about a tri-county tour. Sadly, none of that ever happened. All that survived was this one song. Here’s Q-daddy and BiGNoze Mama with their rendition of Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” off of their non-existent debut album.

“Twelve of the thirteen tracks on the album are variations of extended silence. Those twelve tracks sound multitudes better than most of the stuff on mainstream radio these days.”

We may not record any more gems like this one…and the world will probably never get to witness any of our thought-provoking covers of select Bone Thugs-n-Harmony tunes…but two things are forrealforreal: together we make mediocre, overly auto-tuned music, and together we made some damn cute kids.
